Deborah Kerr - The basics

Deborah and her brother Ted

September 30th, 1921 (Helensburgh, Scotland) / October 16th, 2007 (Suffolk, England)

Height 5' 6" (1.68 m) - Natural red hair.

First daughter of Arthur Kerr-Trimmer and Kathleen Rose Kerr- Trimmer. Her father, an engineer, passed away when she was 15 years old.

Younger brother Ted (Teddy) Kerr. Ted was killed in a road rage situation in 2007.

Married Air Force Squadron Leader Anthony (Tony) Bartley in November 26th, 1945. They had two daughters, Melanie Jane (27 December 1947) and Francesca Ann (20 December 1951). They divorced in 1959.

Deborah and Tony lived in England until her career took her to Hollywood in 1947 to film "The Hucksters" with Clark Gable and Ava Gardner.

She married script writer and novelist Peter Viertel in 1960 after they met while shooting "The Journey". They remained married till her death. He died less than three weeks later on Novemeber 4th, 2007.
